Dealing with tooth pain is no fun as well. In fact, when you have a tooth ache, everything else just seems to be horrible. Often when you call the dentist for an appointment, you find out that you have to wait days to see the dentist so that you can get relief. So, you may be desperately looking for things that you can do to get rid of the pain that you are dealing with in your tooth. Take Pain Relievers

First of all, it's important that you take some pain relievers to help you get rid of some of the pain. A good over the counter pain reliever, such as Aleve, ibuprofen, or even Tylenol should help you out. Make sure that you take a look at the label on the drugs and make sure that you only take the recommended dosage amount, even though you are in a lot of pain.

Tooth Desensitizers Can Help

If you are trying to get rid of tooth pain, another option that you have is to go with tooth desensitizers. You'll find that they are sold over the counter and you can purchase them for a reasonable price. All you do is put them on the area where you are having the tooth pain. This can help to take care of the sensitivity that you are dealing with and it can help to lower the pain that you are dealing with as well.

Use Some Ice

When you are dealing with tooth pain, using some ice can be helpful as well. When you apply ice to your face in the area where it really hurts, it may numb it a bit for you. Of course make sure that you use a towel between your face and the ice pack so that you don't get frostbite on your face. You can use the ice for about 15 minutes and you can do this several times a day.

Clean the Tooth Carefully

Cleansing the tooth carefully is important as well. It's important that you get rid of any food that could be making it really hurt. Use some floss around the tooth and brush well to try to get rid of anything that could be irritating the tooth and causing some of the pain that you are dealing with.

Try a Bit of Alcohol

A bit of alcohol can also help if you are dealing with tooth pain. In fact, there are many people that recommend it. The alcohol is absorbed by the gums and it helps to keep the area more numb for you. Swish the alcohol around in your mouth and allow it to kind of sit on the area that is hurting for a minute or so. Then you can spit it out.
